Tips for new travellers
Welcome stranger.
Rio de Janeiro is a beauty. Strange, full of contrasts, promises and dangers.
Some tips about travels:
1 - Define where to go.
2- Ask yourself few questions:
- Why do I'd go there?
- What kind of dangers I'll face
- What expectations do I have?
- What worst thing should happen ?
- Am i prepared to it ?
- Do I have life insurance?
- When is the best period to go there?
- Why this specif time of the year?
- Am I sure?
3- Research. A lot!
- weather
- currency
- costums
- language minimum requirements ( SOS word in local language)
- vaccination requirements
- visa requirements
- local regulations about stuff ( lugagge, drinks, drugs, etc.)
- political situation
- local areas with possible problems or dangers ( ex: guetos and "favelas")
- local news
- hotels localization ( some cheap hotels are located in "cheap" areas)
- local transportation (what is available, how much, when and where)
- places to visit
4- Never repeat words someone told you laughing ( you may be teasing someone without realizing it)
5- Be cool about delays
6 - Always have a "B" plan - not all places we may visit really want us there.
7 - Always look around for the emergency exit.
8 - Don't think everybody is nice as they are at your home.
9 - Don't show off!
10 - Simple pleasures are great but never left your money pocket with strangers while you are swimming on a wonderful beach.
11- Carry travellers checks.
12- Check emergency local phone numbers. You may need them.
13- Be prepare to be really surprised. All strange things may hapen when you are not "en garde".
14- Enjoy your trip.
15 - Make friends to fell as you need to mail them or left a message at msn.
16- Live your life and let the others do the same!
